Information you provide

When you use the contact form, join an email list or otherwise contact me through this website, I may receive information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, organisation, the subject of your enquiry and the contents of your message.

If you contact me through WhatsApp, Telegram or another external service, that service may provide information associated with the conversation you initiate, such as your account name or identifier, message content, attachments you choose to send, and technical delivery information. Those services also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Device preferences and local storage

The site uses browser local storage for features that are kept on your device, including language preference, optional first-name personalisation, recently selected content categories, whether a personalisation prompt was dismissed, and your privacy choice. These preferences are used to make the site easier to use and are not intentionally included in contact-form messages or analytics events.

You can clear these preferences through your browser storage controls. The site also provides a “Privacy choices” control in the footer so you can change the optional analytics setting without clearing other preferences.

Analytics and privacy choices

Optional first-party analytics may be used to understand broad page visits, calls-to-action and form-submission events. These events are designed not to include contact-message text, email addresses, names or URL query strings. Optional events are sent only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Choosing “Essential only” keeps this optional measurement off.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the site treats optional analytics as off. Hosting and security providers may still process limited technical information necessary to deliver, secure and operate the website.

Website and service information

The site and its service providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as request times, browser or device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and security or error records. Contact-message text is not intentionally used for website analytics.

Why information is used

Personal information may be used to receive and respond to enquiries, continue conversations you start, provide requested professional information or services, manage email signups, maintain relevant business records, understand and improve the website, and detect or address misuse, fraud, security incidents or technical problems.

Messaging information is used to receive and manage the conversation you initiate. It is not used to send unrelated marketing messages without an appropriate reason or permission.

Sharing and service providers

I do not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the website, deliver forms or email, provide hosting and security, measure site performance, or support communications. These providers process information under their own contractual and privacy obligations.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse. It is not shared more broadly for unrelated purposes.

Retention

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to an enquiry, maintaining an ongoing professional relationship, keeping necessary business records, resolving disputes, meeting legal obligations, or protecting the service. Information that is no longer reasonably needed is deleted or anonymised where practical.

Your requests

You may ask whether I hold personal information about you, request a copy or correction, or ask for deletion. Use the contact page and describe your request. I may need to confirm enough information to identify the relevant records and may retain information where reasonably required for legal, security or record-keeping purposes.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No website, messaging platform, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website, communication channels or relevant practices change. The effective date below will be revised when a material update is published.
